The Koenigshof Hotel
The Koenigshof Hotel is an iconic hotel located in the centre of Munich. It is part of Marriott's exclusive Luxury Collection. In collaboration with the hotel, we created a custom-made clothing line we can be proud of.
The challenge of the Koenigshof Hotel
One of the biggest challenges during pre-opening was coordinating the different schedules. With a tight timeline and the pressure of the opening, we had to perfectly align the design, production and delivery process to deliver everything within six months.
By actively involving the Koenigshof team in the design, we were able to incorporate their input on fit and comfort. We visited Munich several times during the sampling phase to evaluate the designs and adjust them where necessary.
From inspiration to production
The bold, modern architecture of the Koenigshof, with its large windows and use of gold elements, was an important source of inspiration for our designers' choices. Visiting the site under construction proved a valuable addition.
50 unique garments
The designs were inspired by Munich's rich culture, with a nod to Bavarian traditional garments that we gave a modern twist. Think yankee-style blazers for the bartenders and collarless linen overlap tunics for the employees in the restaurant Greta Oto, located on the top floor of the hotel. Two completely different styles that come together harmoniously in the same location.
To provide each department with a uniform, a total of 50 unique garments were designed and produced.
Subtle Bavarian elements, such as standing collars and refined materials, gave the clothes both a local and modern feel. The colours of the collection found their inspiration in the surroundings and design of the Koenigshof, with predominantly earthy tones perfectly matching the hotel's atmosphere. Another nice example is the rust-coloured outfit for the doormen. Striking yet very stylish.
Success must be celebrated
The project concluded with a spectacular fashion show in the lobby of the Munich hotel, where the staff proudly presented their new uniforms. This clothing line not only reflects the luxury of the Koenigshof Hotel, but also reinforces the image of the professionals who put their heart and soul into looking after guests every day.
